Terry’s friend Malcolm receives a Christmas card from another woman, which causes a bust up between him and his wife, Beattie.

Terry arrives home with a brand new company car. However overnight his new car is stolen, and things don’t end there!

It's June's birthday, and for once Terry has not forgotten. But getting the present to her turns out to be so complicated that it nearly ruins their marriage.

When Terry’s friend Malcolm asks him to hide the Christmas present he has bought for his wife, June finds it hidden under the bed and mistakenly thinks Terry has bought it for her.

Terry’s boss asks him to stand for town council, in a bid to help his company have a “man on the inside”, so they can sell more fire extinguishers to the council.

Terry and June prepare for a golfing weekend, organised by Terry’s boss, Sir Dennis Hodge. June is taking lessons and Terry buys a new set of clubs from a bargain warehouse.

A friendly neighbourhood conflict ensues when Terry decides to take up a noisy hobby and Tarquin turns out be chairman of the local Noise Abatement Society.

Terry buys CB radios, so he can talk to June when he is in the car coming home from work. However, June isn’t impressed when she realises he has spent their holiday fund.

Terry and June head to the garden centre to buy a bargain garden pond, however it isn’t so cheap after Terry causes a number of breakages.

Terry and June attend the church’s social club to give a talk. When there, they help the vicar to find out if the bingo results are being rigged.

Terry becomes the proud owner of a video recorder but when Sir Dennis asks him to record something for him things don’t go quite according to plan.

When Terry’s boss realises that Terry has been making his own wine, he appoints him as a judge in a local wine making competition.

Terry and June decide to take a trip to Boulogne to buy some cheap wine, but when there they encounter some language difficulties with the locals.

Terry and June join their friends to go bird watching, despite Terry‘s lack of enthusiasm. Terry tricks his friend Tarquin into thinking he has heard the call of a rare bird.

Terry and June face problems when they call in workmen to fit some wardrobes in their bedroom, but it isn’t long before the men go on strike.
