Champion House Back Tonight. A new series of thirteen.
Starring Edward Chapman, Nicole Maurey, Maurice Kaufmann, Virginia Stride, James Kerry
In the Champion family, conflict is inevitable. Tensions and undercurrents exist all the time. And yet they have, although they rarely mention it, a deep affection for one another. When one of them needs help, the other Champions close ranks in defence.
Tonight's story tells of just such an occasion. There never was a greater need for the Champions to unite. One of them is on trial - charged with manslaughter. The case looks black and nobody can be optimistic about the verdict.
It all started at the Mill's annual dance...

Multitex makes another bid to gain control of Champion's. Joe will do anything to prevent it but is not helped by the elusiveness of Mr. Yeoman.
by Derek Ingrey.
Starring Edward Chapman, Nicole Maurey, Maurice Kaufman, Virginia Stride, James Kerry
The death of one of the directors leaves a vacancy on the board of Multitex. It is a matter of no great concern to the Champions until one of the directors at Multitex has an idea that startles even his colleagues. It utterly amazes the Champions. Joe sees it as a serious threat to Champion Mills and is determined to fight it. Not everyone at Champion House agrees with Joe and he finds himself on his own in a ruthless battle of boardroom politics with no weapon but his cunning which, as his family have reason to know, is not inconsiderable.

The last of the present series.
Starring Edward Chapman, Nicole Maurey, Maurice Kaufmann, Virginia Stride, James Kerry
Tonight's episode is the last in the present series and there is in it, appropriately, a sense of climax. Matters are coming to a head in Champion House. The struggle for control between Joe and Stephen must eventually end in a victory for one of them. Liz cannot stand for ever the strain of divided loyalties. Michele and Edward still dream of having their own business in the sun. So there is a deep feeling of unrest in the Champion family - like the heaving of a volcano before it erupts. And an eruption could mean the end of the Champions for ever.

It was all Joe's fault. He had insisted that Edward should go in his place to a Rugby match at Manchester. He would never have insisted if he had known the consequences. It so happens that Edward runs into an old friend, George Cullen, whom he has not seen for ten years. It is an occasion - and they celebrate it. It is a good celebration - and Edward finds himself the centre of a scandal that could rock the chimneys of Champion Mills. Although happily married, Edward can never quite live down his old reputation - and the girl was definitely very attractive.

It is now generally accepted that not all secret agents are tall, glamorous show-girls. They are, in fact, very skilled, slightly cynical, professionals - not necessarily with any glamour at all. There are two in tonight's episode. When four Russians, allegedly members of a trade delegation, go to Bradford, M.I.5 sends a British agent to investigate He meets an old enemy and makes a new friend - Liz Champion. There is a big contract in the offing so all the Champions are interested. Sergei, the head of the delegation, is full of charm and Michele is more than interested. It so happens that Edward is in London...

There is strict security in one section of Champion Mills - for the good reason that the Champions are experimenting with a new device which they intend to keep to themselves. Quite unexpectedly, Stephen receives a call from an old friend, Saeed Khan. Now it is quite possible that Saeed Khan is not all he says he is and Joe is by nature suspicious. Stephen is reluctant to distrust his friend while Liz has to form her own opinion; but Saeed Khan has a way with him - especially where women are concerned.
Incidentally, he provides a splendid role for Zia Mohyeddin.
