Earlier this year the speaker, young architect, went to Greece for the second time. Apart from visits to many sacred sites, he studied classical fortifications and town lay-outs in Attica and the Peloponnese. In this talk he examines some nineteenth and twentieth-century theories about the grouping of Greek buildings. He refers to 'The Idea of Space in Greek Architecture' by Rex Martienssen , and ' The Pelican History of Greek Architecture' by A W. Lawrence.
