January
H. E. Piggott and Doreen Greenwood
In no part of England have the music and folk songs of the old village life been more carefully recorded and preserved than in the West. Many of these songs are closely linked with the seasons-often, indeed, they are identified with the activities of a particular month. H. E. Piggott will be recalling some of these traditional songs on or near the first day of every month throughout the year and each talk in the series will be illustrated by selections - from the songs.
In the first talk the singer is
Doreen Greenwood , accompanied at the piano by H.E. Piggott himself.
