A talk by THE MIDLAND REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Regional Programme Midland

Conductor, Sir Hugh S. Roberton
Annie Tait (contralto)
Alexander McKay (tenor) from the St. Andrew's Hall, Glasgow
No connoisseur of the singing of madrigals, part songs, and folk songs needs to be told about the Glasgow Orpheus Choir, which under its conductor and founder. Sir Hugh Roberton , has earned a reputation for itself far beyond the borders of Scotland. Early in the century Sir Hugh began his career as trainer of a church choir, and soon formed the small body of singers which became the nucleus of the Orpheus Choir. Many of the arrangements used are by Sir Hugh himself.
