Walking by Night
W. KERSLEY HOLMES
Last week Mr. Alastair Borthwick told listeners how it might be possible to starve in Scotland even if one had plenty of money in one's pocket. Tonight Mr. Kersley Holmes deals with a topic which is rather more suggestive of adventure. There are thousands of square miles in Scotland which are forbidding enough in daylight, and in darkness might very well get the traveller as much adventure as he will want for the rest of his life if he is not completely familiar with the way and what to expect. Mr. Holmes spends a great deal of his time walking, and knows the countryside as few other people do. If he can find real adventure, there is ample opportunity for less energetic listeners to get all the thrills they want.
