An appeal on behalf of THE Boys' BRIGADE,
MANCHESTER BATTALION by The Rev. Canon PETER GREEN
Canon Green, rector of St. Philip's Church, Salford, is a great pleader and fighter for the betterment of social conditions in his parish, which is in a poor district-one which he has again and again refused to leave. Wider and more national causes find in him a champion too. Though he has never sought the limelight of personal publicity, he is a man warmly admired all over the country as churchman, philosopher, social worker, speaker, and author. One of his best-known books is ' The
Problem of Right Conduct'. He broadcast in the North Regional programme on September 13 on ' The Pleasures of Giving '.
