This is the first relay since 1933 from the Bradford Alhambra, which was built in 1914 and stands out architecturally as the great feature of Victoria Square, the theatreland of Bradford.
Under the managing directorship ot
Francis Laidler , whose pantomimes are so well-known to listeners, it presents with equal success 'once nightly', ' twice nightly ', and grand opera, and was the birthplace of the British National Opera Company. All the greatest Variety, dramatic, and musical-comedy stars have appeared on its boards during the last twenty years.
Tonight's relay will be given at the second house, and listeners will hear the following items: The Rhythm Sisters, an orchestral interlude of about six minutes. Sutherland Felce , and the ever-popular Les Allen.
