' Tales of Redroke ', No. 2
' The Coming of the Lady Zaida' by SYBIL CLARKE
This is the second of the plays in the Redroke series which began last Wednesday with ' How Cedric, the Swine-herd, became a Free Man '. There are to be four more of these plays, And they will be broadcast on consecutive Wednesdays. Each will describe adventures of various children of the de Florien family, the owners of the Yorkshire Manor House of Redroke for hundreds of years.
These plays have been specially written by Miss Sybil Clarke who, as most of you know, is the author of the ' Georgina Pauline ' plays which you like so much.
Today's play tells of the departure of Hugh de Florien from Redroke Manor. He is joining the Crusade under Richard Coeur de Lion, which is to attempt to drive the infidel from Palestine. It goes on to tell of his strange adventures and mysterious homecoming.

PAT FORREST
A Visit to a South Yorkshire Coal
Mine
Today Pat Forrest is to open a series of six talks covering an underground tour of the country. He will discuss in the series four coal mines, one salt mine, and one lead mine—practically the only two working constantly in Britain. This evening he is to deal with a Yorkshire coal mine near Doncaster.
Pat Forrest is also broadcasting in the ' All in a Day's Work ' series in the National programme, and he introduced a coal miner to the microphone on October 28. At one time he was himself a coal miner in Durham on both the technical and the practical sides, and he will use his experience in the underground tour of Britain.
