Singer, poet, and author, Catha! O'Byrne has an international reputation as an authority on Irish folk music and poetry. He has given many lectures and lecture-recitals in Ireland and in the United States, especially under the auspices of the Carnegie Trust.
Tonight he will read ' The Winding Banks of Erne', a poem by William Allingham. Allingham, though born of an English family, spent his early life at Ballyshannon, County Donegal, and in this poem he pays tribute to the loveliness of jhat magnificent part of Ireland.
