Roy Henderson (baritone)
The Song of Momus to Mars Boyce
Roy Henderson was educated at
Nottingham High School and the Royal Academy of Music (where he distinguished himself as captain of the cricket team). For several years he was chorus master of the Nottingham Harmonic Society, which he trained for its concerts with the Halle Orchestra under Sir Hamilton Harty.
In 1932 he was elected a Fellow of the R.A.M. and in the same year became conductor of the Huddersfield Glee and Madrigal Society.
At the International Festival of Contemporary Music in Amsterdam in June, 1933, he sang the solo uart in Belshazzar's Feast.
