An appeal on behalf of THE SOCIETY IN AID OF NERVOUS
CHILDREN by CHARLES L. C. BURNS , M.R.C.S.
This organisation was started on April 1, 1937, to work in conjunction with Dr. Burns of the City's Child Guidance Clinic. Dr. Burns found that although a large number of nervous children made a good recovery in the day and residential open-air schools, there were a number who needed more individual treatment.
Those sent away by this Society are chiefly children who are difficult to manage. On the small farms where they are boarded out under careful supervision they soon become normal children.
The Society is hoping to build up an income sufficient to establish a convalescent school, the cost of which is estimated at between £1,500 and £2,000 a year.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged, and should be addressed to [address removed].
