The choir to be heard this evening was formed in 1919. Its successes include awards at Leamington, Loughborough, and Northampton. Sydney Wisdom was its conductor from 1919 to 1923, and was reappointed in 1931. He also conducts the Coventry Operatic Society.
Johan Hock , the cellist in this
Warwickshire programme, helped to form the Catterall Quartet, and conducts the Birmingham Philharmonic String Orchestra.
Eric Hope , the other soloist, comes from Leamington. He first broadcast in January, 1935.
