Since 1898 Mr. Blackall has been organist of St. Mary's Collegiate Church, Warwick; he broadcast from there in November, 1935. He was for thirty years associated with the Birmingham Festival Choral Society, first as chorus master and assistant conductor, and then for ten years as conductor. He is now an examiner in music at Birmingham University and several training colleges. In 1934 he was appointed to succeed Sir Granville Bantock as Principal of the Birmingham and Midland Institute School of Music.
