Conductor, THOMAS YOUNG
WALTER PAYNE (baritone) Rushden Temperance Band was formed in 1875. Before the War it was second to Besses of the Barn at Crystal Palace and runner up to Black Dyke at Belle Vue. Since the War it has won two first prizes at the Crystal Palace, and was champion of Northamptonshire Amateur Association in 1932. Altogether it has won about £4,000. The conductor, Thomas Young, was formerly of St. Hilda Colliery Band
