Coventry Salvation Army Band, which has just celebrated its jubilee, is one of the most famous bands in the organisation which it serves. It had the honour of being the only provincial band at the first post-war Bandmasters' Council Festivals at Clapton Congress Hall. Under the present bandmaster, who has held the leadership of the band for a dozen years, it has broadcast several times from different stations, including Aberdeen, and has played at Festivals and celebrations all over the country. In 1931 it was the Crystal Palace solo band.
