by MICHAEL MULLINAR
Cerdana (Etudes Pittoresques) de Sévérac
1. Arrival in Cerdegna ; 2. Minstrels and Gleaners ; 3. The Mule-Drivers before the Christ of Llivia; 4. The Return of the Mule-Drivers
These studies are Spanish in feeling and portray incidents in the province of Cerdegna, the first piece depicting the arrival of a tartane, which is a two-wheeler Catalan dog cart. The second study is a romance on a pilgrimage to Font Romeu, and is based on the theme of a Cerdana, which is a popular Cerdegna dance. Michael Mullinar , the well-known pianist and composer, has introduced to Midland listeners a number of interesting works by modern foreign composers.

' Can new industries cure present mass unemployment?'
A discussion between GEORGE JONES ,
ISAAC GEORGE , H. JARRETT-KERR , HERBERT BUCKLER , and GRAHAM CASTLE
The principal new speaker at this session of Midland Parliament is Lieut.-Colonel H. Jarrett-Kerr , of Cheltenhem, who is representative in the United Kingdom of the Rural Reconstruction League of India. He will advocate land settlement schemes as a valuable contribution towards the solution of unemployment and also a much-needed corrective of the overurbanisation of today. Graham Castle, Secretary of the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council, is also new to Midland Parliament, but not to broadcasting, for he discussed ' Village Life Today ' with Geoffrey Boumphrey at the microphone a month ago. Herbert Buckler , a Leicester manufacturer, was in the discussion on unemployment insurance and pensions. Isaac (' Mickey George , who is employed at a big motor works, and George H. Jones , Secretary of the Midland Miners' Federation, have taken part in most of the Sessions of Midland Parliament. On this occasion, in the absence of Sir Charles Mander , George Jones will be in the chair.
