A Dramatic Sequence showing how the machine has changed the course of man's life, by robbing his hand of its cunning and his heart of its consequent delight.
' To the workman his materials are as the face of his god seen over the rim of the world'.
The programme arranged by C. HENRY
WARREN
Produced by OWEN REED
The nature of this programme is indicated above. It has a special Midland attraction in the fact that it was in Birmingham that Bolton and Watt made the early steam engines, and that William Morris , the principal protagonist of handicrafts as against machinery, had his home in the village of Kelmscott. C. Henry Warren, who has arranged the programme, gives the fortnightly talk, ' Out and About '. He devoted a recent talk in the series to his impressions of modern mass production at a large Midland motor works.
