Sir GILBERT BARLING, C.B., C.B.E., M.B.,
F.R.C.S. : ' The Training of a Medical Student fifty years ago '
Sir Gilbert Barling , Bart., became Resident Pathologist at Birmingham General Hospital in 1880, and has been associated with that hospital as a surgeon and consultant ever since. He was for many years Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Birmingham University, and recently retired from the office of Pro-Chancellor there.
