LEONARD GOWINGS (tenor)
There can be few more popular broadcasters than Reginald King, who has been on the air with his orchestra over five hundred times and his won for it a name that is enviable anywhere. He arranges all his own music and always has the same combination of instruments : three violins, viola, 'cello, bass, oboe (doubling cor anglais), Mustel organ (doubling celesta), and piano (which he plays himself). In 1931 Reginald King was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. Three years ago he founded the Celebrity Trio, which broadcasts regularly, and as a composer of tuneful pieces with delightful titles he stands second to none. Few modern composers' names appear so often in the programmes of light orchestras playing and broadcasting throughout the country.
