Regional Programme Western

(Section C)
(Led by MARIE WILSON )
Conducted by AYLMER BUESST
ANATOLE MELZAK (Violin) This concerto, by Victor Buesst, the brother of tonight's conductor, was first performed by Anatol Melzak, to whom it is dedicated, at a Bournemouth Symphony Concert, Sir Dan God. frey conducting, in February, 1932. It is a work differing from tradition only in construction; there are no long stretches of tutti and stereotyped repetition by the solo instrument. Rather is the violin, though definitely a solo part, interwoven with the orchestra
