Modern Teaching Methods: Projects and Themes
by C. H. Zoeftig, Headmaster of Woodmansterne Primary School.

A child comes home from school and announces that he is 'doing' houses in other lands or the story of the English theatre. He is taking part in what his teacher calls a project. What does this mean and how valuable is it as a method of learning?

The Childless Couple
by Beryl Northage.
Many people feel that their marriage is incomplete because they are unable to have a baby. This applies most poignantly to the childless couple, but is by no means restricted to them; there are many who already have a family and who would like to add to it but have been unable to do so. Mrs. Northage, secretary of the laboratories at the Family Planning Association, describes how these people can be helped.
