Script by Lesley Wilson
Thursday's recorded broadcast
Mrs. Dale writes:
"Mother's parcel from Italy turned out to be a Christmas present from Aunt Hester-a dozen Venetian wine goblets. She considers this a useless present and is so indignant at having to pay heavy customs duty on them that she is talking of putting them out for sale in her shop! Wednesday was the 13th and it certainly began badly for a lot of people in Parkwood Hill. Our telephone rang repeatedly in the early hours; all the callers had the same symptoms, which was odd enough, but it was even odder than that, because they had all been to Mr. Bonner's Mayoral Dinner."
