Lord Thomson of Fleet
is questioned by Joan Yorke and Leslie Smith

Do our most powerful press barons always come from Canada? Perhaps not; but arguably the two Canadian newspaper Peers, Lords Beaverbrook and Thomson, have been the most powerful of them all. Beaverbrook was interested in politics and the political power that his newspapers gave him; but Lord Thomson, it is said, is interested only in financial power and the accretions to it that newspapers may bring. Or is this too simple a view of this barber's son who now owns 'about 128' newspapers all over the world?
