The Croydon Guild of Social Service, established about fifty years ago, provides three Homes and Clubs for old people and a meals service and other amenities for the aged and infirm. Training classes are arranged for physically handicapped people, many of whom are homebound; the goods made at the classes are sold in the handicraft shop. Holidays and outings are also provided for old people and for the disabled. A further project is the building of flatlets for old people, many of whom are alone in the world.

10— 'The Challenge ' with Mollie Maureen and members of the BBC Drama Repertory Company
Produced by Peter Watts
In his plan to revenge himself on the men who brought about his imprisonment years ago, Edmond Dantes has already succeeded in publicly exposing a scandal in Fernand Mondego 's career.
For the ruin of his second enemy,
Dantes has planned that Danglars shall marry his daughter to a handsome felon named Benedetto, whom Dantes has launched on Paris society as a rich Italian nobleman.
As to the magistrate who falselv sentenced him, Dantes has encouraged the wife of de Villefort in her unhealthy interest in poisons, and hopes to see the whole family wiped out-even the paralysed old grandfather, M. Noirtier. What he does not know is that his friend Maximilian, son of his old benefactor, is in love with the beautiful young Valentine de Villefort.
