at the piano
Alan Paul has been a BBC Variety accompanist since May, 1934, but was well known on the air ten years earlier. Among the many things he did in the way of broadcasting he used to play with the J. H. Squire Celeste Octet. Besides playing the piano brilliantly, he has broadcast on the harpsichord, celeste, and muste! organ.
He is best known to listeners for his two-piano acts with Ivor Dennis. Like so many pianists in the light entertainment world, he has his serious music side as well. Some two years ago some of his own compositions were heard in a programme called ' Pastoral '.
Among those who may be there are: Loma Stuart ; Peter Sinclair , the Cock o' the North ; Jacques Brown ; Sam Costa ; and C. Denier Warren
