Benguela and the Burning Shore Africa's Nabib desert, where baking sand dunes tumble into an ocean cooled by an icy current called the Benguela, is home to an odd array of animals. They include fur seals, dancing lizards, beetles that bathe in fog and blind sand-swimming moles. On the shore, penguins mix with hyenas, jackals and antelope. (R) (S)

Opera North's acclaimed production of Benjamin Britten 's opera Gloriana, intercut with material filmed with a single camera onstage at Leeds Playhouse, behind-the-scenes footage and sequences shot on a studio stage.
The story centres on the relationship between Queen

David Attenborough turns detective and goes on a personal quest to discover the history of a simple, carved figure he bought during the eighties at an auction.
