Beginning live coverage from the Oval of the first day's play in the Cornhill Insurance Test match between England and Sri Lanka.
It is Sri Lanka's first Test match in England since 1991. On that occasion a century from the current England captain Alec Stewart helped his side to success.
Since then Sri Lanka have made their mark on the world stage, scoring their first Test victory on home soil over England and then going on to win the World Cup two years ago. The batsmen who made Sri Lanka the world one-day champions in such thrilling style are sure to provide a tough test for England's bowling attack.
For the home side. the match - which follows a gripping Test series and a victory against South Africa-offers players a chance to make a last bid for places on the coming tour to Australia.
