It Went Yesterday
Errol is 18 and training to be a motor mechanic. He is a black Londoner. On 28 May he answered a job advertisement and was told the vacancy was filled.
Andy is 18 too, and on the same training course. He is a white Londoner. An hour later he went for the same job and got an interview the next day.
Their evidence is logged in a test of 100 companies monitored by the Commission for Racial Equality-where tougher action to fight prejudice in employment is now the top priority.
