David Fairhall and Penny Bowles cover the world of ships, boats, and the sea.

Many people buy their first boat after enjoying a holiday on the Norfolk Broads. But the appeal of these peaceful reed-lined waterways is reduced in midsummer by overcrowding. Holidaymakers are estimated to be spending £3 million a year on the Broads, and boatyards expect to take another £3 million this year from hiring out cruisers and yachts. Can unused stretches of river be opened up to the Broads' sailors to ease the congestion?
Waterline examines the case for extending these inland waterways, from the village of Horning and on board a ketch cruising on Malthouse Broad.
