In the 50s and 60s, coffee bars were not only a vital meeting point for teenagers but also the birthplace of the British rock 'n' roll movement. Marty Wilde, who was discovered while singing in a coffee bar, introduces the programme, which includes the voices of Tommy Steele, Cliff Richard, Wally Whyton, Wee Willie Harris and many others.
