In episode one, Barbara Windsor traces her maternal grandfather to the East London Docks and discovers that his mother, her great-grandmother, was a matchgirl at the Bryant & May factory. But Barbara's forebears can also be found farther afield: her mother's ancestors were Irish and her father's family hails from Suffolk.
