Tonight, a look at how a treatment for heart attacks could be extracted from the jaws of the vampire bat. With its unpleasant appearance and its taste for blood, the vampire bat is one of the most unpopular creatures on earth. It feeds on the blood from open wounds and its saliva contains a cocktail of chemicals that prevent the wound from healing up before the bat has finished feeding. Jez Nelson reports from Mexico on the scientist who has discovered that these same chemicals could be used to dissolve the blood clots that cause human heart attacks.
Plus, Philippa Forrester puts a new completely automatic robot vacuum cleanertothe Tomorrow's World test.
