Ingrid Bergman stars in the first of a two-part screen biography of Golda Meir ; her last performance for which she won an Emmy Award. Also starring
Driven from their native Russia by pogroms, the Mabovitch family settled in Milwaukee, where Golda emerged as a lively young woman with a single-minded commitment to Socialist-Zionism. In 1921, that commitment led her and her husband, Morris Meyerson , to Palestine where she found her life's work.
For Golda, the years up to 1948 were marked by great happiness for the birth of Israel, and personal sadness when her marriage broke up. Written by HAROLD GAST and STEPHEN GETHERS

Carolina on 17 February 1970 at 3.40am, the operator took an emergency call for an ambulance and MPs to rush to the quarters of Captain
MacDonald, medical officer in the GreenBerets. Reaching the house, they made a horrifying discovery - MacDonald's s wife and daughters had been brutally slain and he himselt wounded by their killers.
