Geoffrey Wheeler travels to the steel city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire to meet the people who have chosen tonight's hymns. Choirs drawn from city centre churches and the band of the Salvation Army Citadel have come together in the Cathedral Church of the new Roman Catholic diocese of Hallam to sing their Songs of Praise.

O Praise Ye The Lord (Laudate Dominum) Immortal, invisible (St Denio) And can it be (Cardiff) Jesu, lover of my soul (Aberystwyth) We are one in the spirit; All my hope on God is founded (St. Michael) To God be the glory; Sweet Saviour bless us
