Swimming from Blackpool: The A.S.A. National Championships
The A.S.A. Championships, which have occupied the entire week at Blackpool, are acting as the final trials prior to the selection of the British swimming team for the Olympic Games.
Those swimmers who have already qualified for inclusion in the Olympic Training Squad and have undergone long and intensive training will be anxious to justify the time, money, and effort which have been spent on them. Those who have already qualified for a place in the squad (by recording a performance this year equal to the fifth-placed finalist at Tokyo) will be equally anxious to show that such a performance was no fluke and can be bettered.
