Aneurin Rees at the age of fourteen was appointed organist at St. John's Church, Alltwen, and has since that time been organist and choirmaster at the Wesleyan Church, Pontardawe ; Bethel Newydd, Carnant; and since 1921 at the Walter Road Congregational Chapel, Swansea. He is very well known as a conductor of singing festivals and also as an adjudicator of organ playing.
