This County Durham band-the colliery is at West Hartlepool-has a fine record of successes at Northern competitive festivals. It held the Durham county championship from 1927 to 1937, and in the last eleven years its members have collected prizes\to the value of more than £3,000— over 70 ' firsts' and many cups, shields, and medals.
