This is the second of the series of programmes showing the development of Church music from plainsong and early faux bourdon through the great polyphonic composers Byrd, Weelkes, and Morley to the modern cathedral Evensong with its blending of the fine traditions which are our glorious heritage from the past. Amongst the composers represented will be Taverner, Tye, Farrant, Morley, and Tallis.
