THE HIPPODROME THEATRE,
COVENTRY
The first broadcast from the Coventry Hippodrome was Francis Laidler 's revue The Big Show in the winter of 1932-33. Pantomime and variety bills have frequently been relayed, and the Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Charles Shadwell , regularly contributes to the afternoon ' pool '. The theatre was built in 1906, and considerable additions were made in 1921.
