Navid Akhtar - a British Kashmiri Pakistani - believes it is no accident that his community is thought to have produced four of the seven British-born suicide bombers. Akhtar gives his personal critique that, since their arrival in the 1950s, Kashmiri Pakistanis have resisted assimilation, maintained tribal allegiances and stifled new ideas, resulting in high rates of poverty and alienation among their numbers.
