3/5. The 1990s was quite a decade for Adams. As the first Gulf war flared up, his controversial opera The Death of Klinghoffer was staged; but it was also a time when his work developed a rich lyrical and melodic vein. Donald Macleod continues his survey of Adams's work, in conversation with the composer.
