City of London Festival: Odes and Icons 1/12. This year the City of London Festival celebrates the seminal music of the 20th century. : The Meeting of Minds

The Berlin Conference, 1884, was the meeting when the European colonial powers, with Russia and America, formalised the so-called Scramble for Africa and divided the continent's interior among themselves. Needless to say, not a single African was among the delegates.
Frances Stonor Saunders examines the consequences of this meeting and explores the nature of discussions that are dictated by diplomacy.
