Bernstein - the Broadway Shows
5/5. Humphrey Burton concludes his week on Broadway with Bernstein's most popular work, West Side Story (1957), With the book by Arthur Laurents and choreography by Jerome Robbins , lyricist Stephen Sondheim called the team "a unique concatenation of people".
With contributions from the orchestrator Sid Ramin , a friend of Bernstein's since childhood, and Ruth Mitchell , who was production manager on the orginal production.

Omar Sosa Trio/llmiliekki Quartet Double Bill Jez Nelson presents a double bill from Bath
International Music Festival. Cuban pianist Omar Sosa appears with an intriguing trio featuring conga player Miguel "Anga" Diaz, stalwart of many of the Buena Vista Social Club albums, and the Tunisian oud player and vocalist Dhafer Youssef. And Finnish guartet llmiliekki make their first major appearance in the UK. The oldest member of the band is barely 26 years old, and their debut album March of the Alpha Males was one of the discoveries of last year.
