Elvin Jones. Julian Joseph introduces highlights from a concert given by this innovative American drummer who was a member of John Coltrane 's influential quartet of the 1960s. His own group, Elvin Jones Jazz Machine, performed at the Glasgow Jazz Festival in 1992 with a line-up that included Sonny Fortune and Ravi Coltrane (saxophones), Willie Pickens (piano) and Andy McKee (bass).
