: Composer of the Week:Wolfgang Amadous Mozart

(1756-91). The young Mozart was not only a prodigy as a composer. He was also an outstanding performer on both the piano and the violin. And even as a teenager he had the authority and maturity to direct large-scale works in the theatre and the church. Today Donald Macleod surveys the range of music the adolescent Mozart wrote and performed himself.
