1689, the year following the Glorious Revolution, brought the new monarchs to Britain and, as a result of their tastes, new constraints for London's musicians.
PARLEY OF INSTRUMENTS directed by PETER HOLMAN perform Purcell's music for the plays Amphitryon and King Arthur, and pieces by Gottfried Finger for the increasingly popular public concerts. (Given in St Bride's Church,
