These two rarely-heard operas were Janacek's earliest works. Sarka
A tragic-romantic opera in three acts based on a text by JULIUS ZEYER : composed in 1887, it was substantially revised later. It tells the well-known Czech legend of the tragic love of CtirSd and Sarka. This historic Czech Radio recording was made in 1953. Cast:
