: This Week's Composers The Bach Family

From Veit, the miller of Wechmar, grew a family of musicians so talented that in the 18th century it was said to have numbered almost 40 practising composers and performers. The week's programmes of music by the Bach family are drawn from five generations from Johann, born in 1604 to Wilhelm Friedrich Ernst who died in 1845.
