Dramatic oratorio in 11 scenei by Arthur Honegger Text by PAUL CLAUDEL
First performed almost exactly 40 years ago on 12 May 1938 in Basel with Ida Rubinstein.
As she awaits her moment of martyrdom. Joan reviews the events of her life aided by one of her voices from heaven, Brother Dominic , who presents them to her as in a book.
